More and more intelligent technologies are being applied in railway industry, such as smart train, BIM, UAV detection andmonitoring, E-ticket, station check-in by facial recognition, etc. What kind of benefits can these technologies bring to railway? What earth-shaking changes will happen to future railway?

Let’s image that in the future, the railway operation, management and service will be unmanned. Everything will be controlled and supported by AI and algorithms. When I submit a travel order with mobile phone, the system will handle it immediately. By allocating the route and vehicle resources, it could even operate a customized train for me or a small number of passengers travelling at the same time and in the same section. That will be amazing~

Perhaps in the future, on a smart train, robots will replace drivers and crew members to provide services for passengers.

I think that under the existing intelligent technology, railway passenger transport will be more convenient. E-ticket and other technologies have greatly shortened the arrival time of passengers, and to some extent, promoted passengers to choose the railway transportation mode for travel. In the future, it may be possible to introduce artificial intelligence into the production and construction ends of Railways to reduce human work and make robots play a greater role. For example, the future site lighting, all kinds of equipment will be managed by robots. I guess the application of artificial intelligence can also help to reduce the railway operating costs. For example, the annual electricity bill is a huge amount, but after being managed by robots, the electricity bill may be saved by one third.

I am looking forward to skipping the check-in and security process at the station in future by using some AI technology, such as face-recognition technology, retina recognition, and etc. Once we enter the station, the turnstile will open if we have already booked the train tickets departing from the station. The security examination could be made when we are walking through a specialized corridor. In that case, we do not have to bring any certificate of tickets with us and we can get aboard more quickly and safely.

Perhaps in the future, robots may provide services to passengers in stations and trains to achieve intelligent services; they can even be used for maintenance operations to achieve intelligent maintenance.

The future high-speed rail should be a perfect combination of intelligence, digitization and informatization. When passengers arrive at the station, the intelligent robot can provide guidance for passengers to get into the station. If passengers encounter difficulties in the station and need help, they can directly click the help button, and an intelligent robot will be automatically selected from the background to come to the passengers and solve the problem.

We can imagine: maybe in the future, passengers will be able to choose the color of the window beside them; The train can't start until the driver's face is recognized.

Trains will be smarter in the future. You can book seats by clicking a button.Smart windows will show you the information you want. Robots will provide catering services for you. The temperature in the train will be automatically controlled .
Wow, it sounds like a dream. I'm looking forward to it!

In the near future, there will be people walking in the spacious and bright Qinghe Station to help you pull your luggage and guide you to the ticket gate accurately. She is not a pretty railway lady, nor a handsome railway brother, but a luggage handling robot. Whether it is swiping e-tickets, reimbursement vouchers, ID cards, or face recognition, as long as you let it "look" at your ride information, it will quickly and accurately guide you to the corresponding ticket inspection through high-precision positioning and navigation mouth.
