On July 21, the Fuxing intelligent EMU trains, designed for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, were officially unveiled. This train is designed to operate at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour and will provide rail transit services during the Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games in five co-host cities: Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jinhua, Shaoxing, and Huzhou.

“To ensure passengers’ comfort, we put a lot of effort into the train’s design and manufacturing processes. Through repeated simulations and tests, the train’s stability has been significantly improved, ensuring that water in cups only sways slightly during high-speed travel,” said Yin Zhenkun, Deputy Director of CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles National Engineering Research Center.

The train’s accessible carriages are equipped with Braille signs at stations, passenger areas, and disable-friendly restrooms, providing guidance and information for athletes and passengers with special needs during the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. Additionally, the train provides 5G+WiFi coverage inside all the carriages. The train’s “Falcon” biomimetic design for the front head reduces air resistance significantly, resulting in an estimated 10% energy savings. Coupled with its lightweight body construction and overall energy-saving technology, the train is expected to save approximately 1.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
