COMPUTER: Syslogic has launched its AI Railway Computer RSL A3, which it says is the first onboard computer for rolling stock to be based on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial system on module.

The industrial module offers the same performance level as the tried-and-tested Jetson AGX Xavier, but is specifically designed for demanding environmental conditions. Potential applications include AI-based intelligent video analysis, computer vision, inferencing, machine learning and autonomous operation.

Syslogic has combined the NVIDIA module with its own carrier board and a robust housing, drawing on its 30 years of experience in the rail market. The AI Railway Computer RSL A3 has been designed for operation in temperatures ranging from -40 to +70ºC, with the boards being protected against condensation through conformal coating.

The AI Railway Computer RSL A3 has passed the EN50155 certification, and complies with the EN45545-2 HL3 fire protection standard. It is also shock and vibration resistant in accordance with EN61373.
