CR Fuxing EMU Series

In 1990s, China began to organize research and development of high-speed EMU series and received notable results such as Xianfeng and China Star EMUs, which were designed and produced independently and put into use after many trials. Since 2004, after introducing and absorbing advanced foreign manufacturing technologies of EMU, CRH train series including CRH1, CRH2, CRH3, CRH5 and CRH380 were put into production and operation in batch.

Study on Development Strategy of China’s Intelligent High-Speed Railway

The paper analyzes the development trends of digitization and intelligence for global railways, as well as the construction situation, the achievements of IT application and the challenges of China high-speed railway (HSR) and puts forward the connotation of intelligent HSR and its four components, namely, the brain platform, intelligent construction, intelligent equipment and intelligent operation. Going forward, the paper carries out the blueprint design of intelligent HSR based on cyber-physical systems (CPS) and proposes a six-dimensional correlation analysis method. It then applies it in the strategic planning of intelligent HSR, determining the goal of development for China HSR in the three stages of innovation demonstration, accelerated breakthrough and comprehensive improvement from 2018 to 2035.

Study on the Intelligent High-speed Railway System Framework

With the rapid development of high-speed railway and intelligent technologies, the construction of intelligent high-speed railway has been started in China in an all-round way. Due to the fact that intelligent high-speed railway involves complex Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) engineering, top-level design is needed to set a path for the its construction and future development. Based on the analysis of the design methods and research ideas of intelligent system frameworks both at home and abroad, and the connotation and characteristics of intelligent high-speed railway system in China, the framework of intelligent high-speed railway system is studied. Concepts of service architecture, functional architecture, logical architecture, and physical architecture are put forward. Studies are also carried out on the connotation  and composition of the Brain of intelligent high-speed railway.

Application of Large-capacity BPT System on Neutral Sections on Long Slope

The thesis is based on a railway project, setting neutral sections on a long slope with gradient of 30‰ in Xiangjiang Tunnel on the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway. Difficult technical problems in the project call for the application of large-capacity current converting control technology, thus BPT system is in operation to enable catenary to provide uninterrupted power supply when the train passes neutral sections. The thesis then explores its theoretical foundation, and proposes to work out complete technologies and application plan. The thesis also finds that after five years of R&D, test, appraisal and application in the project, BPT system is proven to be advanced in high level of automation, good compatibility with train and catenary, and high reliability in operation. BPT System has effectively solved technical difficulties concerning neutral sections, and offered an optimized solution for 25kV AC traction mode getting electricity from the public power grid. The successful application of the system also shows that it is a reliable technical solution when applied in breaking phase and in complex railway projects.

Study on the Health Monitoring Index of Long-span High Speed Railway Bridge Based on Service Condition

The technical standard system of high speed railway (HSR) infrastructure ought to cover the full life cycle of the infrastructure, including the standards of design, acceptance and operation. For long-span bridges, environmental factors like wind, temperature, creep, settlement which have a marked influence on structural performance should be taken into consideration in design and operation. Various loads are in adverse situation in the stage of design, and it is required that structures should meet strength demand in combined action, while deformation limits are prescribed in accordance with various loads, and the stiffness requirements of the structure arer not put forward. Therefore, the design standards cannot be adopted directly in the operation stage of the structure. The paper carries out a comparative study on the adaptation of radius of curvature, wave length amplitude and chord length to the deformation control of long-span bridges, and proposes the analysis process of health monitoring index limit by taking a deck arch bridge as example, which can be used in static deformation control in operation stage for different bridge types and spans.

Study on the Technical Standards of Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway

In combination with the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway (HSR) project in Indonesia, the paper carries out the adaptability study on the technical standards of China’s HSR for “going global”. It analyzes the influence factors in selecting the technical standards for the project from the perspectives of natural conditions, social factors and technical levels, conducts the adaptability study on the major technical standards as well as the professional technical standards covering lines, track, geology, subgrade, bridges and tunnels and puts forward proposals for the technical standards adapting to the conditions of the project. The achievements of the study provide support for the construction of the project and offer references for further optimization and improvement of the technical standards of China’s HSR as well as for other “going global” projects.

Revisions of Regulations on Railway Technical Management

The Regulations on Railway Technical Management of CHINA RAILWAY are the basic technical regulation of national railway. Since their release and implementation in 2014, the provisions that do not adapt to the requirements of transportation and production need to be revised and improved to match the upgrading of railway technical equipment, optimization of transport organization and changes in relevant national laws, regulations and standards. The paper puts forward the basic principles of revision, determines the background, reasons, bases and contents of revision for the main provisions and thus mainly solves the a series of key technical problems covering external locking device for turnout, distance between the inner edge of power line pole and the center line of track, train sign display mode, train classification and operation class sequence, locomotive return across traction section, speed restriction of passenger train with its cut-out-cock of its automatic brake and speed restriction of EMU trains when passing small radius curve, providing technical support for the assurance of transport safety and efficiency of railways.
